Beautiful lamp-worked Bimini dancer. The Bimini workshops were formed in Austria by Fritz Lampl and Joseph Berger in 1923. Their specialty was lamp-worked animals and people. During the period between 1923 and 1936 many different forms were created and can be seen in Neuwirth's book entitled "Bimini". Bimini glass can be indentified by it's delicate and thinly blown forms that express gentle and sweeping motions. This Bimini dancer is actually a card holder for formal dinner settings. Two small glass clasps protude from the dancer's leg to hold the card. A similar dancer can be seen on page 417 of Neuwirth's book. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
