| Classic Art Deco vase created
for Daum Nancy by the well known French designer Pierre D'Avesn. This
identical vase can be see on page 236 of Cappa's "Le Genie Verrier
de L'Europe". D'Avesn designed some of Lalique's most well known
pieces including the "Serpent" and "Tourbillon" vases.
His resume includes stints as designer and Manager at Daum, Sevres
and Verlys. He started producing his own pieces in 1927, this is one
of them. It has a large scroll handles on both sides and a "glue
chip" surface treatment. The rim is fire polished and it has a
ground base ring. It's in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
