Very rare feather painted silhouette vase designed by Adolf Beckert for Friedrich Pietsch. The term "Feather painting" was given to this form of decoration because the artist used a very fine brush to produce these highly detailed works of art. This vase has 4 different panels which feature a man and a women in various "courting" scenes. Each panel was acid etched before being painted. See pages 100-101 of Truitt's "Collectible Bohemian Glass 1915 - 1945" for other examples of this beautiful glass. This vase is in excellent condition with no loss of decoration.
