Stunning modern glass sculpture
by Ed Nesteruk. A technique called "veiling" is used to trap the layers
of color within the clear glass. Most of Ed's work is commissioned
so you won't find many of his sculptures on the market. The ones you
dess see pop up in auctions or on display in museums. It's signed
"Nesteruk '92".
Excellent condition with no chips cracks or
scratches.

When Victor Durand died in
1931 so did his art glass business. His business partner Evan Kimble
was convinced to keep the shop open one more year to produce a new
line of glass that was similar to Steuben's Cluthra. It was made in
a similar manner using a powdered glass formula that called for lots
of bubbles in the batch. It was produced for about a year and then
discontinued. Kimble glass was signed with a "K" in a similar
manner that the "V" was used in Durand's glass. Kimble glass,
especially multicolor varietys with handles are very rare and hard
to come by. This was probably one of the last pieces made since it
never received that engraved signature. It has a polished pontil.
Although unsigned this is Guaranteed 100% to be Durand / Kimble glass.
At some point in it's life one of
the handles snapped off and was re-attached with some sort of epoxy.
I think these 2 handled versions were prone to damage because I've
come across 2 other with the handles missing completely. It's in excellent
condition with no chips or cracks.
Item# 354
Origin: United States
Maker: Kimble Glass Co.
Dimensions: 6.5 in. tall, 6.5 in. wide
Color: multicolor cluthra

In 1920, H.P. Sinclaire built
a factory in Bath, N.Y. and started blowing his own glass. Using former
workers from Dorflinger and the master gaffer Emil Larson, he began
to produce art glass that rivaled Steuben for it's quality and design.
Because his colored glass was only produced for seven years it's more
scarce than similar art glass from factories like Steuben. This vase
is a lovely shade of amber that has a ribbed optic. There is a polished
pontil. It's signed on the bottom with an acid etched "S". The vase
is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
There is
a
thin
light scratch about an inch long on one side of the vase. Item# 227
Origin: United States
Maker: H.P. Sinclaire & Co.
Dimensions: 6.25 in. tall, 6 in. wide
Color: Amber
Age: 1920 - 1927
Price: $125 US.
