Beautiful hand painted vase
which I have attributed to Josef Ahne (1830 - 1909). Much of his work
were portrait paintings on white milk glass blanks. His 'style'
was influenced by the Italian and German artists of the Romantic
period. Most of these vases were exported for sale in the U.S.
This particular vase is stunning in its detail. Although it is not
signed,
the quality
and execution is identical to many other Ahne vases I've seen. Excellent
condition with no chips or cracks.
Item# 388
Origin: Bohemia
Maker: Josef Ahne
Dimensions: 10.25 in. tall, 5.5 in. wide
Color: painted milk glass
Age: 1880 - 1890
Price: $475 US.

round EXBOR acid stamp is on the base. Excellent

it could be American or

It's
a very unique

oval shaped panels with intaglio cut floral shapes that seem to change
color based on the lighting. The bottom is flat with a floral engraving.

Beautiful lamp-worked Bimini
dancer. The Bimini workshops were formed in Austria by Fritz Lampl
and Joseph
Berger
in 1923. Their specialty was lamp-worked animals and people. During
the period between 1923 and 1936 many different forms were created
and can be seen in Neuwirth's book entitled "Bimini". Bimini
glass can be indentified by it's delicate and thinly blown forms that
express
gentle and sweeping motions. This Bimini dancer is actually a card
holder for formal dinner settings. Two small glass clasps protude from
the dancer's leg to hold the card. A similar dancer can be seen on
page 417 of Neuwirth's book. It is in excellent condition with no chips
or cracks. Item# 217
Origin: Austria
Maker: Bimini
Dimensions: 4 in. tall, 3.5 in. wide
Color: clear with milky white and amber
Age: 1923 - 1936
Price: $75 US.

of
a factory
stamp in gilt. Excellent conidtion with no chips or cracks. Some

Turn of the century Art Nouveau
vase with hand painted floral gilt decoration. Ribbed optic with sponged
gilt around the flared rim. Large polished pontil with the number "30" painted
in the middle. There's also a number of strange engraved symbols which
I assume are the artist's initials. A similar vase can be seen on page
139 of Truitt's "Collectible Bohemian Glass 1880 - 1940". Excellent
shape except for what appears to be a light paint smear on the backside
(visible
on
the third
photo) . I've haven't tried to remove it. Item# 154
