Micheal Nourot was one of
the original 16 students at the acclaimed Pilchuck Glass School during
the summer and winter of 1971. As part of this group working with Jaimie
Carpenter and Dale Chihuly, Micheal designed and built the first furnace
and structure at Pilchuck. These days, Nourot vases sell from anywhere
from $300 for smaller vases up to several thousand dollars for larger
pieces. This large vase was hand blown by Micheal Nourot in 1985. It

Stunning 11.25 inch Urn vase
with Tiffin optic. Rare and desirable "Cellini" open work
stem that required the expertise of many skilled craftsmen to create.
This same vase can be seen in Leslie Pina's "Tiffin Modern Mid-Century
Art Glass" on page 26. The listed value is $225 - $275. Produced
from 1947 - 1955, it was expensive to make because of the number of
people involved to create the dramatic handblown stem. Excellent condition
with no chips or cracks. A few small scratches on the inside of the
vase about an inch down from the top.

Origin: United States
Maker: Tiffin Glass Co.

Art Nouveau floriform vase
from the early 1900's. I haven't been able to attribute this one. It
reminds me of the type of vase that Tiffany, Quezal, and Durand would
produce. Definitely old but there are no markings. The glass is cased
from the bottom up and then thins out near the top. The interior of
the vase reminds me of the orange/opal stretch finish of many Imperial
Freehand vases from the 1920's. The exterior of the vase is a deep
red color that's slightly iridized. Excellent condition.

finish on interior.
