Beautiful Fenton Off Hand art
glass vase circa 1925. It features Fenton's unique "mosaic inlaid" pattern
with iridescent threading and a polished pontil. It's 6 inches high
and 4 inches across the base. The vase has an allover iridescent sheen.
These vases were only made for about a year and are fairly scarce.
The same glassblowers that produced these vases for Fenton also worked
on Imperial's Freehand and later on worked on Durand's art glass. This
vase is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There's minimal
if any thread loss. There's a bit of wear to the iridescent finish
in places around the interior of the rim.

Rare Imperial Cathay
crystal "Scolding Bird" with engraved Virginia B. Evans signature.
The development of Cathay crystal began in 1943 when Imperial Glass
president Herb Gustkey contacted Virginia Evans (a well known artist-designer
at the time) to design a Chinese inspired line of glassware. Evans
designed 35 different items by modelling them in clay. The resulting
models were cast into glass moulds. "Cathay Crystal"
was officially introduced in 1949. Each item was packaged in it's
own fancy jade velour gift box complete with a 32 page booklet
describing the line. The frosted crystal Cathay items with the Virginia
B. Evans signature were only produced during the first year making
them very rare and collectable. This one is in excellent shape with
no chips or cracks.
Item# 202

Maker: Imperial Glass Co.

This vase has me stumped.
Definitely French, Art Nouveau period but it's unmarked. The vase has
a repeating Art Nouveau style floral etch that repeats itself around
the vase. It looks like at one time the floral detail and rim of the
vase
may
have been gilt. Only a bit of color now remains. The dark area looks
to be a dark amethyst stain. The bottom of the vase has lots of wear.
Other than the loss of gilt, the vase is in excellent condition with
no cracks or chips.
Item# 225
Origin: France
Maker: Daum?
Dimensions: 8 in. tall
Color: crystal etched with dark amethyst stain
Age: 1890 - 1910

Wow! Here's a beautiful and
rare Boston & Sandwich vase that has been cased in white and then

can be seen in Barlow & Kaiser's "The Glass industry in Sandwich",

of had a stopper but when I checked the inside of the neck there were
no scuff marks whatsoever. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

Stunning vase from the glassworks
of Saint Louis circa 1850. White opalescent body with an applied decoration
to the rim consisting of white filigree twisting around a green
ribbon encased in crystal. Up until around 1845, the Saint Louis glassworks
was mainly
known
for their fine
crystal.
They
began
to experiment with opalines, cased
glass
and
filigree glass in the old Venetian style. By mid-century they had
perfected these techniques. This vase is an example of this highly
skilled work. The surface decoration is all hand painted. Large polished
pontil.
Very little loss of decoration. Excellent condition with no
chips or
cracks.

Maker: Saint Louis
Dimensions: 9 in. tall, 5.5 in. across the top

Here's a nice example of a
Bohemian/Czech "pen painted" vase. The body of the vase
has a satin finish on which a gilded background has been applied.
The artist then
uses a pen shaped applicator to
hand
paint
the areas in black. The end result is stunning. The base has been cut
to clear. The artist's signature is on the vase but undecipherable.
This vase is in excellent shape with no chips or cracks. Just a bit
of
residue
on
the inside
bottom.

Beautiful "Biedermeier style"
souvenir spa cup. These cups were popular souvenir items in Bohemia
during the mid 19th century especially around vacation spots like Karlsbad.
This cup is a classic example of the high standard of Bohemian cutting
and engraving of this era. There are 5 cranberry flashed cutouts surrounding
the vase.
Four of
them
contain
detailed
engravings
of towns with German names. The base is star cut and the rim has
been bevel cut and polished. This spa cup is in excellent shape except
for
a couple
of
small flakes
on the ridges on the star cut base, a couple of miniscule flakes
on
the
rim
and a couple of "fleabites".
